I have always wanted to be an orthopaedic knee surgeon ever since I ruptured my ACL ligament when I was 17. It took a long time for my injury to be diagnosed, and I underwent an ACL reconstruction at 18, which has served me well ever since.
My heart is in Nottingham! I trained as a doctor and underwent orthopaedic training at Nottingham University Hospital. I specialised in knee surgery and was a Sports Knee Fellow at Derby before undertaking a trauma fellowship in Oxford.
Before spending six months as a Sports Surgery Fellow in Perth, Australia, I carried out further knee fellowships at the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.
I am now a Consultant Trauma and Soft Tissue Knee Orthopaedic Surgeon at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, and I am a member of the regional training committee, helping to train the knee surgeons of tomorrow.
Knee Treatment Tailored to Your Needs
I believe in the person as an individual, and I tailor the treatment to suit the patient’s needs and wishes. Everyone is different, and no two knee problems are the same.
When you come to see me, I’ll want to hear what’s important to you, your life, and how your knee problem is impacting you. I work very much as part of a team, alongside physiotherapists, osteos, sports doctors, podiatrists, S & C, and sports coaches. Surgery is only as successful as the rehab that accompanies it, and I’m passionate about ensuring you get the best possible outcome from your knee treatment.
When not looking after patients, I enjoy spending time with my wife (a paediatric doctor) and our two young children. A former basketball player, I now enjoy watching basketball and supporting our local football clubs.
